Your privacy at EOPIRA

Draft, not yet in effect

This page is a draft being reviewed before EOPIRA launches. Details in brackets will be filled in.

EOPIRA is run by [Business legal name] ("we"). This page explains, in plain words, what we collect when you use EOPIRA, why, who helps us run it, and the choices you have. Questions? Write to [contact email].

The short version

  • You can listen to the daily prayers without an account.
  • We only collect what we need to run EOPIRA. We don't sell your information and we don't show ads.
  • We don't use AI to read, sort or moderate what you share, and we don't use it to train AI.
  • Anonymous posts are hidden from other members, but EOPIRA's moderators can see who wrote them.
  • Payments are handled by PayPal. We never see your card or bank details.
  • You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete my account.

What we collect and why

Your account

Your email address, your password (stored scrambled by our sign-in provider, so no one at EOPIRA can see it) and the name you choose. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email and profile photo from Google. We use these to sign you in, show your name on posts you choose to share with your name, and send you account emails.

What you share in the community

Posts, photos, comments, reactions and likes, and any reports you make. Posts shared with your name show your name and photo to other members.

Anonymous posts and comments don't show your name to other members. To keep the community safe, EOPIRA's moderators and admins can see which account wrote them (its name and email). They use this only for moderation, for example to stop harmful behaviour.

Care Cards

The design and note you choose. Cards don't show the sender's name, but anyone with a card's link can open it. We keep a record of which account sent each card, to prevent misuse.

Listening to prayers

To count "Felt this today" once per device and to show how many people are praying now, your browser keeps a random device code. It isn't linked to your name or account.

Notifications

Notices we show in the app, your notification settings and, if you turn them on, the push address your browser gives us so we can send notifications to your phone or computer.

EOPIRA Companion membership

PayPal processes your payment. We receive your subscription's reference number, its status (for example active or cancelled), the amount and the renewal date. We never receive your card number, bank details or PayPal password.

Private sessions with Yishrayl

Your name, email, time zone, the time you book, and the payment and refund status. We share your name, email and time with Cal.com (our booking calendar) so it can reserve the time and email you and Yishrayl the invitation and video link. Sessions take place on Zoom or Cal.com's video service. PayPal processes the payment.

Live gatherings

Whether you asked to be reminded before each gathering. The gathering's video link is shown only to signed-in members.

Moderation records

Reports, and actions moderators take (such as reminders, pauses or removals), with the reason.

Technical information

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical details such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These are used to keep EOPIRA secure and working, not to track you.

How we use your information

  • To provide EOPIRA's features: prayers, the community, Care Cards, gatherings, memberships and sessions.
  • To send the notifications and emails you've asked for, and important account or booking messages.
  • To process payments and refunds through PayPal.
  • To keep the community kind and safe, and to respond to reports.
  • To answer your questions, and to meet legal obligations.

We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who helps us run EOPIRA

We share information only with the services that run EOPIRA for us, and only what each one needs:

  • Supabase: our database, sign-in and file storage (servers in the United States).
  • Vercel: hosts the website and app.
  • PayPal: memberships, session payments and refunds.
  • Cal.com: the booking calendar for private sessions, which also sends booking emails.
  • Zoom and Cal.com video: live gatherings and private sessions.
  • Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google.
  • Our email provider: sends sign-up and password emails.
  • Apple, Google and Mozilla push services: deliver notifications to your device, if you turn them on.

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect someone's safety.

Cookies and browser storage

We use only what EOPIRA needs to work: a sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in, the random device code described above, a note that you dismissed the notifications invitation, and a copy of the app saved on your device so it opens quickly. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

  • Your account and what you share stay until you delete them or your account.
  • When you delete your account, we delete your profile, posts (including anonymous ones) and photos, comments, reactions, Care Cards, notifications and settings. Records of past private sessions are kept for our bookkeeping, with your name and email removed.
  • PayPal and Cal.com keep their own records of payments and bookings under their own policies.
  • Deleted information may remain in our service providers' backups for a limited time before it's removed.

Your choices

  • Change your name in Account, and your notifications in Notification settings.
  • Delete your posts at any time, or your whole account from Account → Delete my account.
  • To ask for a copy of your information, or to correct something, write to [contact email].
  • Depending on where you live, you may have further privacy rights. Contact us and we'll help.

Children

EOPIRA isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Keeping your information safe

Information is encrypted while it travels between your device and EOPIRA. Access is limited: members can only see what's meant for them, and only EOPIRA's admins and moderators can see moderation details. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.

Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we'll update this page and let members know in the app before they take effect.

A caring space, not an emergency serviceRead

EOPIRA is a caring space for prayer, encouragement, and friendship. It does not replace medical, mental health, legal, or emergency services. If you are in immediate danger or experiencing an emergency, call your local emergency number. For urgent emotional support, contact a local crisis helpline.
